Unemployment Consulting Service

With financial support from the city of Cologne, BFmF e.V. maintains an unemployment consulting center (EBS).

The unemployment consulting center provides independent, neutral and confidential consulting to unemployed people, people threatened by unemployment and people returning to work, with or without a migration background.

If there is a desire for career change and employment is precarious, EBS provides information on employee rights.

Our consultants can help with the following questions, among others:

• Professional (re)orientation
• Career Field Infos
• Targeted Job Search
• Support of the Application Process
• Preparation of Complete Application Documents
• Dealing with Offices and Authorities
• Reconciliation of Work and Family Life, etc.

The unemployed counseling center also supports you in the following cases

• Social-legal and livelihood issues
• Initial applications for unemployment benefits I and II and applications for continued benefits
• Explanation of approval notices
• Additional needs supplements in special life situations
• Basic information on related legal areas such as housing benefits, child benefits, education and participation, maternity protection and, if necessary, refers you to other specialized consulting centers such as tenant consulting, orientation consulting, debtor consulting, labor law, family consulting, etc.

EBS regularly offers topical information events and training courses on job-related topics, sometimes in cooperation with other labor market players.
